The First Ascent kayak team checks in to talk about the largest section of whitewater it has seen yet during its Africa expedition.
“This is where the biggest section of whitewater exists … and we have a really high level here. Right now what I’m looking at is a really swollen Victoria Nile River, somewhere in the vicinity of 25,000-30,000 cfs, so we’re looking at a good 8,000 to 10,000 cfs than what we saw upstream. This river has the highest concentration of hippos and crocs on earth. If the whitewater isn’t enough, you have to really pay attention to wildlife out here.”
