The First Ascent kayak team calls in from Camp 2 at the Mountains of the Moon at 11,000 feet.
Chris Korbulic: “These mountains are called “the fountains of the Nile.” For a while [hundreds of years ago] they were the only feature on maps in Central Africa. Yesterday we hiked up for about five or six hours, got some very heavy rain and hail, and got way up into this heavy fog. Now we’re just looking up, and we’ve got a big day, not going too far but just through a super, deep, heavy fog.”
