Gerry Moffatt Explores the Yeti Myth for National Geographic’s ‘Expedition Week’
Posted on March 29, 2011

Get your DVRs ready! On April 4, First Ascent filmmaker Gerry Moffatt presents a National Geographic special titled “Hunt for the Abominable Snowman,” part of National Geographic Channel’s Expedition Week. Half man, half ape, the yeti is said to roam only the most remote peaks, where people rarely venture. As conventional scientific theories challenge ancient beliefs and credible witnesses, Gerry separates fact from fiction to find hard evidence that the legend is real.

Gerry is no stranger to adventure and exploration. He first arrived in Nepal on a British kayaking expedition in 1983 at the age of 18. As part of the First Ascent Be First program, he concluded his 20-year effort to descend all the major rivers in the Nepalese Himalayas. Currently he serves as the white water consultant to the Kingdom of Bhutan. National Geographic regards him as “the most experienced river guide in the Himalayas.”

Tune in to National Geographic at 9 p.m. local time on Monday, April 4, to watch the show! Eddie Bauer is also an apparel sponsor of Expedition Granted, a contest tied to Expedition Week.
