Dangerous Conditions Force Big Mountain Shut Down at Skiers Cup: Team Americas Wins
Posted on January 13, 2014

Dangerous big mountain conditions forced the rider-driven cancelation of the second leg of The Skiers Cup, resulting in a narrow 9-7 win for Team Americas. With the competitive pressure off, the best freeskiers in the world put on an exhibition in the chosen venue and impressed all the spectators in attendance. We’ve linked to the Big Mountain day recap above but the sudden shut down shifted the entire focus to the results of day one’s Backcountry Slopestyle, including KC Deane’s run that we’ve linked to below.

Even with the weather shut down, The Skiers Cup once again impressed again with its progressive, rider-driven head-to-head format. In the meantime high five to EB athlete KC Deane and his teammates for bringing the cup back stateside in this rider-driven contest. We can already hear the Euros clamoring for a rematch.
