Melissa Arnot has summited the world’s tallest peak more times than any Western woman. But for her it’s not just about summit day, it’s about all the work and all the miles she puts in to get strong for the climb. “Mountain training is really the most critical aspect of climbing for me, it’s all of the preparation you do before you even ever try to summit any peak,” says Arnot. “I try to be 100 percent more prepared than I think I’m ever going to need physically and technically, that way I know that on my summit day I can enjoy things and I’ve put all the training away before I even get there.”

Melissa Arnot is a world-class female high altitude climber and current Mt Everest record holder. In 2010 and 2013 she led the celebrity Summit on the Summit (SOTS) on Mt. Kilimanjoaro to help raise awareness for clean water access. Arnot is the founder of the Juniper Fund; a non-profit organization that provides supplemental life insurance and funds rescue efforts on behalf of mountain workers.
