Eddie Bauer Conservation Alliance Voting Begins to Protect the Environment
Posted on February 24, 2015

Amidst massive old growth, Jake Norton walks the walk via the Big Beaver Trail.

Eddie Bauer is a proud member of The Conservation Alliance, an organization of outdoor businesses whose collective contributions support grassroots environmental organizations and their efforts to protect wild places where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. Alliance funds have played a key role in protecting rivers, trails, wild lands and climbing areas throughout North America for over 25 years.

Twice each year, member companies are asked to select grant proposals for funding. Eddie Bauer has picked the 10 projects we’ll be voting for – and now we need YOUR help to rank them. Ranking is an important part of the process because projects at the top of the list get funded first and The Conservation Alliance works its way down the list until the grant money runs out.

Making the cut for our top ten are projects that range from permanently protecting the trail network on Galbraith Mountain in Bellingham, Washington and securing Trout Unlimited protection for 1.9 million acres of prime Alaskan salmon habitat to a Western Rivers Conservancy project to protect 17,000 acres along twelve miles of the Yapma, Rio Grande, Gunnison and Cimarron Rivers in Colorado. Other organizations with projects on our potential funding list include the Montana Forests Campaign, the Colorado Canyon Country Protection Campaign, the Ocean Foundation in Baja, the Audubon Alaska effort in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Save Mount Diablo in California’s East Bay Area, the Sierra Club of B.C.’s work for the Flathead National Park, and the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition drive to protect one million acres in the sacred headwaters of the Skeena, Nass and Stikine Rivers.

We think all of these projects are extremely worthy – but your vote can help decide which ones are most likely to get the Conservation Alliance’s support.

Read about the projects below and vote. Act quickly – voting closes at 12:00 pm Seattle time on Friday, February 27. Please vote for only one project.

Not a single eastern or southern cause? All western/pnw?

  2. Eddie Bauer Social

They weren’t all from the PNW. Baja Peninsula is pretty far south, wouldn’t you agree? ;)
