Caranga Camp, Day 4. 13, 200 ft. Morning comes too early at 5:30 a.m., but tea at the tent door really helps. After waking this morning we all got ready for the most technical part of our trek.
Barraco Wall Camp, Day 3 12,900 ft. After a beautiful night at Moyr camp, we headed out for our longest day yet. Today took us to 15,100 feet (a new high for most all of the climbers) and then down to our resting place for the night.
The day started with a level of organized chaos and the final packing and weighing of the bags. Each person’s bag needed to be under a certain weight, which was easier said than done.
I can hear excited whispers all around as the climbers are meeting each other and loading up the bus. What a great mix of people, all very interesting in their own way. I think it is great to see people with such diverse backgrounds come together for one cause.
